Therapy

Genesis provides psychotherapy to children, adolescents, and adults. We do a significant amount of work with children and adolescents who struggle with anxiety/fears/worries, whether their fears are more generalized or more obsessive/compulsive. Our practitioners enjoy working with adults on a number of life/transitional issues, including anxiety, social difficulties, relationship problems, anger, and depression. Additionally, working with children who are on the Autistic Spectrum is a passion of ours. Our clinicians provide parents with improved understanding of how to parent their awesome/unique child, and the child with a plan to improve social skills and executive functioning (i.e. planning, prioritizing, activating to work, etc.) Furthermore, we especially enjoy working with late teens and early twenty-somethings on life-direction, college/career planning, AD/HD and executive functioning issues, social/performance anxiety and depression that may surface during these turbulent years.

We frequently receive feedback from parents that we are able to make their child/adolescent feel comfortable and that their child enjoys working with us. It is particularly gratifying to work with children/adolescents and their families and to hear that we are making such an impact in their lives, whether its helping their child to overcome fears and anxieties, helping parents to communicate with and parent their children more effectively, or providing clarity regarding diagnostic issues such as ADHD, Asperger’s, and Learning Disorders. We offer a unique combination of insight and practical, straightforward communication.

In our work with adults, we receive feedback that we provide: clarity regarding the nature of their struggles, challenging insights that encourage them out of places where they may be stuck, and worthwhile resources that promote continued education and understanding of how they can continue to improve their situation.
